KENA S. HOLLINGSWORTH

Ms. Hollingsworth is a founding partner of HOLLINGSWORTH JOCHAM & ZIVITZ, PC (“HJZ”), where she practices exclusively in the area of family law. At HJZ, she represents clients in all types of family law issues including divorce, custody, parenting time (“visitation”), child support, including education orders, spousal maintenance (“alimony”), property division, paternity, adoptions, post-decree enforcement and modifications (including contempt actions), prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, domestic partnership agreements and disputes, protective orders, restraining orders, guardianships and family law appeals. As a child of divorce, Ms. Hollingsworth understands the complex, emotional nature of her clients’ cases and approaches them with resolve and compassion.

Ms. Hollingsworth graduated with honors from the University of Southern Indiana, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish with a concentration and certification in International Business. She received her Juris Doctor from the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.

Very dedicated to the family law community, Ms. Hollingsworth is a member of the Hamilton County, Boone County, Indianapolis, Indiana and American Bar Associations. She is a member of the executive committee of the family law section of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is currently serving on the Indianapolis Bar Association's task force to create a family law resource manual for family law practitioners. She is the Boone County Bar Association delegate to the Indiana State Bar Association’s Board of Governors. She has a BV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is an excellent rating and the maximum rating a lawyer can receive who has been admitted to the bar from five to nine years. Ms. Hollingsworth has been selected to participate in the Indianapolis Bar Association Bar Leader Series V. In addition to their respective family law sections, she is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Women in Law and Young Lawyers Divisions, the Indiana State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and the Young Lawyers division of the American Bar Association. Other memberships include the National Association of Women Lawyers, and the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis Alumni Association. Ms. Hollingsworth also serves as a volunteer for Ask a Lawyer in Indianapolis and serves as a Guardian Ad Litem for “Kids Voice.”

Ms. Hollingsworth is a frequent author of and speaker on topics of interest in family law including the following: Top Ten Tips for Family Law Attorneys (December 2007); Hot Topics in Custody & Parenting Time (August 2007); How to find the right attorney for you (May 2007); Top Ten Litigation Practice Tips for Young Lawyers - Family Law (December 2006); Custody Evaluations - Family Law Practical Application Series (June 2006); Family Law - Beyond the Basics (December 2005) and Evidence for Family Law Practitioners (August 2000). Ms. Hollingsworth has also frequently appeared on local television and radio programs discussing various issues related to divorce and family law.

Her published cases include Sabo v. Sabo, 58A05-0608-CV-409 (Ind. Ct. App. 2006) wherein the Indiana Court of Appeals upheld the trial court's decision awarding custody of an 11-year old child to her client, allowing her to relocate with the child to Germany.

In addition to her commitment to the legal community, Ms. Hollingsworth is actively involved in Central Indiana’s community. She is a 2006 graduate of the FBI Citizens' Academy and currently serves on the board of directors of the FBI Citizens’ Academy. Additionally, Ms. Hollingsworth is on the advisory board of The Salvation Army, serving on the social services council. She is actively involved with the People’s Burn Foundation. As a member of the board of directors and chair of the fundraising committee, she promotes PBF’s mission of raising awareness about the tragedies caused by fire by providing services to burn victims and their loved-ones and educating youth and communities on effective burn prevention. Ms. Hollingsworth is a regular volunteer with Dress for Success Indianapolis which promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. She is also a member of Young Professionals of Central Indiana, the University of Southern Indiana Alumni Association, and the Indianapolis chapter of InfraGard.

Ms. Hollingsworth has been honored for her professional and civic achievements. In February, 2008, she was named one of Indianapolis’ “Forty Under 40” by the Indianapolis Business Journal, recognizing 40 Indianapolis originals who are creating the city’s future. In 2007, Ms. Hollingsworth was a recipient of the “Colts Community Quarterback” award for her outstanding volunteer efforts. Additionally in 2007, she was named a finalist in the law category by Junior Achievement of Central Indiana as one of “Indy’s Best and Brightest” for her civic engagement and remarkable achievements in her workplace and in the legal community.

An avid sports fan, Ms. Hollingsworth is a Colts and Pacers season ticket holder, as well as a big supporter of Indiana basketball and Notre Dame football. She loves playing tennis, golfing and boxing. Outside of her legal career, community service and sports, she enjoys traveling, photography and spending time with her friends and family.
